Training for Officials

The following courses will be available to officials and reps during 2008.

 

 

Fairness at Work Course

Open to Brigade FAW reps and Brigade Officials the course is being run by Stow College and will cover a range of current topics.

Location - Regional Office St Enochs Square

FBU Reps Course INTRODUCTION

The course will cover the basic information needed to begin functioning as an effective branch official. It will take the form of a one day introduction that will provide a basic foundation for new reps.

The 2008 course will run on 6 May and will be held in the regional offices at St Enoch Square Glasgow.

Branch officials/reps should contact the Education Officer for details of this course.

Pensions Update

This course will be for Brigade and Sectional Officials and will cover the FPS, NFPS and LGPS. The course will be delivered over two days by Ivan Walker of Thompsons.

These sessions will be held on 23 and 24 June 2008

FBU Reps Course FOUNDATION

The course will follow on from the introduction and provide a more comprehensive understanding for the effective branch official. It will take the form of a three day residential element that will provide a sound foundation for new reps.

The 2008 course will run from 17 to 19 September

Fairness at Work Course - Follow Up

All Different, All Equal

Open to Brigade FAW reps and Brigade Officials the course will be run by FBU Scotland and will cover specific issues surrounding the "All Different, All Equal" policy.

Location - Regional Office St Enochs Square

Risk Assessment & Accident Investigation Course

Open to H&S reps and Brigade Officials the course is being run by Stow College and will cover the background of risk assessment and dispell some of the myths surrounding the topic. Day two will cover accident investigation covering your rights and helping you produce suitable reports on any findings.

Location - Stow College West Campus - Hotspur Street, Maryhill, Glasgow.

Dates - 25 & 26 November 2008
